Press Information Department Job Circular 2023, The Press Information Department or PID is a government agency in Bangladesh responsible for disseminating official information to the media and a media regulatory body. It is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Immediately after the War of Liberation, the Regional Information Office of the then Provincial East Pakistan Government was reorganized as the present Press Information Department. Subsequently, in 1984, at the suggestion of the Enam Committee, the Research and Information Preservation Departments were again merged with the Press Information Department. PID plays a nucleus role in disseminating information to the people at national and international level through press and media coverage so that government activities, policy decisions, development plans etc. are communicated in the form of handouts in press and electronic media for coverage. At the same time it serves as a two-way traffic such as informing the people about the activities of the government and getting feedback from the people and reaching out to the government. PID helps to create awareness among them. This department is considered as the most sensitive government agency.
