The Bangladesh government is hosting about 855,000 Rohingya fleeing violence in Myanmar, the world’s largest refugee camp. As part of the emergency response to concerns over the Rohingya crisis, our emergency nutrition team is delivering life-saving and preventive nutrition services to six camps in Cox’s Bazar. Concern has established itself as a leading actor in urban development discourse, working to draw the attention of policymakers to both the lack of government-provided provisions and the allocation of national budgets for urban social security nets. Anxiety has begun work on healthcare for disadvantaged programs that will increase access to essential health services for two million disadvantaged people, including an estimated 138,000 people with disabilities living in coastal areas.
We have been fighting extreme poverty in Bangladesh since 1972. For over 45 years, we have worked with the poorest people to reduce extreme poverty. We are working hard to address adversity and build resilience in Bangladesh. We are doing this by establishing programs that will reduce poverty, respond to emergencies, and improve health and nutrition. This issue of Knowledge Matters focuses on the experience and learning of the concerns about the graduation approach and is an update to the 2014 issue of Graduation. This assessment examines the response of the Concern and Local Partners Social Assistance and Rehabilitation (SARPV) to the March 2021 fire at the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.
