Raise awareness, improve attitudes and practices that enhance the nutritional status of target beneficiaries. Liaise with service providers, employers, financial institutions to ensure service delivery by beneficiaries; And to set up second tier institutions to carry out institutional functions in phases. Youth Employment One of the main objectives of SDF is to provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth (18 – 35 years) and equip them with the necessary technical training. Finding jobs in rural areas is challenging for young people for a variety of reasons, including (i) lack of opportunities to start a business (ii) lack of information about potential employment opportunities (iii) social norms and restrictions that make it difficult for young people to leave their villages Lack of exposure and experience which makes the youth reluctant to take initiative from their village.
To address these issues, SDF has partnered with the service sector, telecommunications, technology, garments and agribusiness sectors, and has been involved in core GoB training, vocational and job creation initiatives. SDF has set up a youth database which is being maintained. SIPP-II also supported the formation of youth groups. These teams meet once a week to discuss common issues and identify useful options and engage with the local community. Counseling is also provided for young people and their parents who have the option of getting a job away from home but are reluctant to leave. Youth groups also serve as a platform for enrolling youth in existing employment programs from the government or other partners. This activity has been able to support more than 36,000 young people and has been achieved at minimal cost under SIPP-II.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning MEL is an integral part of SDF’s internal control system and used as a management tool to track inputs, outputs, processes and limitations. This unit provides support to SDF’s development programs, support departments. To ensure transparency, the unit conducts periodic analysis, enabling management to determine if key activities carried out as planned and whether they are yielding the expected results. The MEL system analyzes the strengths, weaknesses, constraints, and outcomes of the overall process of project activities. As a result of field observation and learning, the functional problems and obstacles arising out of the participation of the rural population removed and the problems are solved.
