BGB Job Circular 2022

On 16 March 1997, a three-color combination of printed cloth uniforms was introduced for the BDR forces. The glorious 215-year chapter of the BDR came to a head with the horrific infernal massacre that took place at the Peelkhana headquarters in 2009. New laws were also introduced by changing the names and uniforms of the forces. On 23 January 2011, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina hoisted the BGB flag.

This area is located at Jhumjhumpur in Jessore. Brigadier General Ali Mortaza Khan, AFCEC, PSC was the 1st Region Commander. The Jessore region is bordered by the Bay of Bengal to the south, the Padma River to the east and north. Besides, Khulna, Bagerhat, Narail, Gopalganj, Magura, Rajbari districts and the entire Barisal division as administrative districts are under the jurisdiction of this region (total district-17). There are two sectors in this region. Border areas Satkhira, Jessore and Jhenaidah districts are part of Khulna sector and Kushtia, Meherpur, Chuadanga and Jhenaidah districts are under Kushtia sector. The length of the border belt in this region is 644 km of which 259 km is river boundary.

There is no organization in Bangladesh that enjoys an older history and tradition than Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Over the course of 216 years, many political and historical changes have taken place in this organization. The events of February 25th and February 26th, 2009 left the reputable organization with an unexpected scar, where misguided and ignorant forces staged a mutiny and then killed 57 people, including the assistant director general.  The Hon’ble Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh hoisted the flags of four divisions at the Border Guard Bangladesh Headquarters in Peelkhana on 22nd January 2013. The first Regional Commander (RC) in Sarail, Brigadier General ABM Golam Mostafa, started his journey on January 23, 2013.

North-West Region Headquarters

Rajshahi Sector consists of 4X Battalion (e.g. Chapainawabganj, Rajshahi, Naogaon and Patnatala Battalion), Dinajpur Sector 3X Battalion (e.g. Dinajpur, Joypurhat and Fulbari Battalion), Rangpur Sector 3x Battalion (i.e. Rangpur and Lalgram) Namely Thakurgaon and Panchagarh Battalion). There are two more battalions under ORBAT in this region. All sectors and battalions are on uninterrupted duty along the 1,826 km border line of all the borders of Bangladesh. Since its inception, the region has been responsible for border security, border intelligence, anti-human trafficking, anti-smuggling activities, operations against drugs and narcotics, and maintaining law and order.
