The activities of the Bureau of Mineral Resources Development (BMD) are carried out under the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Bureau was established in 1982 under the Department of Industries and Commerce of the Provincial Government under the Ministry of Industries and Natural Resources of the Central Government.
