The influx of foreign funds into NGOs and the rapid growth of NGO activities in Bangladesh are a source of concern for the government that NGOs have become rivals to the government in various fields. NOGs, however, can make a significant contribution if they work in collaboration with the government. Issues of governance, transparency and accountability of NGOs have also come to the fore, which should be addressed with proper sincerity by the government and various stakeholders.
