Asia Pacific University (UAP) was establish in 1992 as a private university under the Private Universities Act 1992, with the aim of increasing the opportunities for higher education in Bangladesh. The UAP curriculum has been approv by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of GoB. The university began its operations in 1996 and offered a four-year bachelor’s degree program in computer science and engineering and business administration. UAP currently offers undergraduate programs in nine branches and undergraduate programs in eight branches.
UAP, sponsored by UAPF, is a non-profit, non-commercial foundation located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The main goal of the Foundation is to improve the educational opportunities, to bring about human and social development through innovative educational programs relevant to the needs of the emerging society and to develop the skills, how and awareness of the youth through appropriate institutional equipments. The Foundation is found group of eminent academics, industrialists and administrators who share the same vision and social commitment. UAP is the foundation’s first project to realize these great goals

The main goal of UAP is to provide high quality education at the third level related to the demand for high quality dynamic academies in Bangladesh. The course and syllabus are design to equip a student to enter the national and international job market or to achieve higher academic and professional goals with a solid academic foundation. The sole purpose of the university is not just to get the students to pass the exams. The University equips its students with the means to be productive and active members of the community and continues the practice of continuous learning to become future leaders and useful members of society.
