Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission Job Circular 2023, Judicial Service Commission In order to implement the directions given by the Appellate Division in the judgment of Civil Appeal No. 69 of 1999, the Government constituted the Judicial Service Commission under the Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission Rules. Prior to the formation of this commission, the people of the judiciary were appointed on the basis of the recommendations of the Public Service Commission. Under the said Rules, a Judge of the Appellate Division shall be the Chairman and two Judges of the High Court Division, Attorney General, a member of the Law Commission, Secretary to the Establishment Ministry, Finance Secretary, Secretary to the Ministry of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, a Dean of Dhaka Rajshahi or Chittagong University, Bangladesh.

The commission consists of the Registrar of the Supreme Court and the Dhaka District Judge. The responsibility of this commission is to recommend the names of eligible candidates for the initial post of the Judiciary (Assistant Judge / Judicial Magistrate). The Commission recommends the appointment of eligible candidates for the post after selecting the candidates through examination for this purpose. In addition, it is the duty of the Commission to advise His Excellency the President on the appointment of any post in the Judiciary and any question arising out of it. It is also the duty of this commission to carry out other duties mentioned in Articles 115 and 133 of the Constitution.

The Judicial Service Commission formed in 2006. After its formation, the commission recommended the names of 175 persons for appointment as assistant judges. These 175 candidates were earlier selected by the Public Service Commission on the basis of oral and written examinations. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) in 2008 conducted a selection of candidates for the post of Assistant Judge. Based on the recommendations of the commission, about 400 candidates appointed as assistant judges. One more such test conducted to recruit more candidates as Assistant Judges and Judicial Magistrates. The purpose of this test to fill the vacancy created by the separation of the judiciary.
